i think we forget that love is a dynamic thing.
love is alive.
it changes.
it crescendos.
it ebbs and flows.you can fall in love with the same person for
a million different reasons and
in a million different ways,
multiple times a day.you can love them for things
they’ve done in the past and
who they have become.you can fall out of love,
too.if you find yourself only loving the past version of that person;
if you do not fall in love with that person daily,
that love is growing stale.because love is only truly alive
in the present.love that person for who they are right now,
not for anything they did in the past nor for
anything they promise for the future.love can only grow in the present.

i want
my fingers to tell
the story of how the
freckles on your collarbones
burst into stars under
my lips. you are an
entire galaxy beneath me
and i have
fallen hopelessly into you.
i am not quite sure
i could find my way
out if i wanted to.
I Loved You Like
i loved you like taking
showers in the rain and rolling
in mud. like jumping in
puddles.
like skydiving, cliff jumping, squishing
three people and some swimming noodles
on a moped with one helmet.
like exploring the jungles
in your eyes.
like running through
the forest barefoot.
like cutting the sole of my
foot on a piece of glass, like
continuing to run despite the
bleeding. like the infection
that developed afterwards.
like the scar that remains.
Miscommunication
You were so preoccupied
waiting, listening for
i love you,
that you didn’t see I was
pushing on mountains for you,
spelling it out in everything
I did.
